About

David C.

I’m originally from Bogota, Colombia although I moved to the US when I was 12 or 11 – I can never remember. Somehow I always feel stuck, like I don’t belong. Have you ever wondered where you come from? And I don’t mean in the deepest philosophical sense; I mean where did you grow up, who your friends were, what was the hip toy of the time? what songs did you hate or love? Now imagine having no recollection of those times, and try figuring out who you really are.

Anyway, like many others out there I’ve picked and pecked at many things in life but adventure seems to always lurk in my mind. Che’s Motorcycle Diaries, the all out ’round the world tours by Ewan and Charley, or the incredible journey of Ted Simon around the world back in the seventies, all seem like are disproportionate comparisons of each other -Different views, goals, ideals, means- and somehow they all share the inevitable paradox of adventure- that makes me blink slower.

Like them, I would like to ride my trusted steed around the world, document life on the road – The gear, the budgets, the dos and don’ts, the planning, and of course the places and people I meet.

I believe the unique advantage of this endeavor comes in the form of candid exposure: you get to see the places for what they are, interact with people without filters, overcome obstacles on a first come first serve basis, and confront the crude realities of humanity. Inevitably, this will have great impact on who you are as a person and how you perceive the world.

And that is David C. – a thought a day, a poem, a ride, a one of you…

“The word adventure has gotten overused. For me, when everything goes wrong, that’s when adventure starts”
